Week 2- Self-Control

Coach T

And just like that, it’s been a week. How was your first week of virtual school? Thank you for all the pictures and comments you sent me. I love hearing from you. This week, let’s consider ways to slow down and practice self control. Sometimes slowing down takes the most self control and discipline. So, what is self control? It sounds like “I can control this myself!” But, when we really see and believe what God is for us by grace through Jesus Christ, the power to do everything by our own will is replaced with surrender. The fight for self-control is a fight of faith. “Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called” (1 Timothy 6:12). By God‘a grace we can resist the urge to go “out of bounds” with our words, actions, or even thoughts. Someone who demonstrates self control knows when to speak and when to listen. They are slow to anger, and have endurance when times are tough. They respect those around them. When you compete this week in our game, remember God provides us the opportunity to show self control.

In your yoga practice this week, think about self control as you become stronger and braver little yogyes.

  1. The Yoga Flow Warmup can be found under the Video tab. This is how you can start your PE time. The Four Square Demo video and written instructions are there as well.

  2. Next look on the Resource Page for the endurance challenge info-graphic for Week 2.

  3. Finally, get outside and practice using your hand as a paddle for a game of Four Square with your family.

  4. Have fun and please fill out the contact form under the video page to let me know you participated in the challenge this week.
